Some of you may be surprised to know we are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Pastor Jake went to Southern Seminary in Louisville and the SBC has provided a ton of support for Redemption City Church. Their missions and church planting organizations allow us as a smaller church to still have a hand in gospel missions around the world. But there are currently battles for the future faithfulness of the SBC regarding doctrine, polity, and who will influence future pastors and churches through the 6 seminaries and large missions agencies.

Every year the SBC holds an Annual Meeting to vote on new officials to manage these entities and to enact policies to guide them. There are also teaching and worship sessions and opportunities to connect with other ministries. Registration is free. We can send up to 8 members to Indianapolis on June 10-12 this year. If we can get a group going, perhaps we can find a way to provide for fuel and lodging.
